Adaptation: Years 4-7
This program includes an introductory 45 minute session related to themes in Biological sciences in the Australian Curriculum, the Cross-curriculum priorities and General capabilities.
Themes explored during the session include some of the more unusual animal adaptations and reasons why they occur. Students explore concepts of physical, behavioural and physiological adaptations that help animals survive and thrive in their environments in a learning environment surrounded by lion, red panda, koala and snake skins.
Teachers can access PDF learning resources from the Zoos SA website that provide information for a self-facilitated inquiry about animal adaptations linked to the Australian Curriculum.
