Junior Zoo School: two day program for R-3

Junior Zoo School (Years R – 3) involves students using a zoo education classroom as a base for two days.

Class groups receive two Zoo educator-led sessions per day  and have time during each day to complete various self-directed Australian Curriculum-focused activities in the Zoo. Themes covered are negotiated between school teachers and Zoo education teachers and can be adapted to suit individual group needs.  Students investigate issues and actions that can be taken to address important conservation themes related to threatened species with a focus on Australian and South-East Asian animals and habitats.
