Rainforests: Zoo Focus Day
During the Rainforests: Zoo Focus Day, students attend an introductory 45 minute session related to themes in Geography, Biological sciences, the Cross curriculum priority sustainability and the General capability ethical behavior in the Australian Curriculum. These themes include the structure and function of rainforests, their role as habitats for complex animal diversity, and examples of human behaviour that is threatening the worlds rainforests. Students explore the relationship between human behavior and threats to rainforests and animals, challenging them to take personal action to address important conservation issues.
Teachers can access PDF learning resources from the Zoos SA website that provides information for a self-guided inquiry about South-East Asian rainforests to complement the introductory session.
