The Scientists and Mathematicians in Schools program allows teachers and students to work with a scientist in a flexible professional partnership.

The Scientist or Mathematician can act as a mentor, role model or inspiration for your students, providing access to new ideas and fresh perspectives.

Student involvement in this program can be tailored to suit the teacher’s needs.  For example students could; visit the mentor’s workplace, students could email questions to the mentor, collaborate to run activities in your classroom or undertake professional learning with the mentor.

The mentor involved will come from a wide range of disciplines and will include research scientists, engineers, doctors, vets and park rangers.
