Adelaide Zoo
Zoos South Australia offers engaging education programs that connect students with nature and encourages involvement in conservation work. Students get close to animals and make connections between conservation and the decisions we make every day. Our programs focus on themes within the Australian Curriculum, including the use of the Zoos’ unique collection of biofacts. Programs feature how people and organisations are saving species from extinction.
Located in the heart of the city Adelaide Zoo is home to more than 2,500 animals and 250 species of exotic and native mammals, birds, reptiles and fish, exhibited over eight hectares of magnificent botanic surroundings. Our free daily keeper presentations offer a great opportunity for students to observe our animals closely and learn more about their behaviours from the people and keepers who care for them.
