Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium
Learn about the fascinating world of plants and their importance to all life on earth in the Adelaide, Mount Lofty and Wittunga Botanic Gardens.
Students from Kindergarten to Year 12 will learn about the connections between plants, people and the wider environment through a variety of curriculum-aligned experiences.
Book an engaging educator-led program for hands-on exploration of the garden that covers a range of topics from kitchen gardening, plant adaptations, aboriginal plant use, plants in space, local animal and plant needs.
To support learning beyond the excursion, educators can access a suite of free digital
resources through our Learning Hub. These curriculum-aligned activities help students
connect with nature before and after their visit and encourage exploration of their local environments and communities.
We also offer a range of onsite and online professional learning opportunities for educators, helping teachers build confidence in using nature-based learning, connecting with the Botanic Gardens, and bringing the wider natural environment into their teaching practice.
